Jourdain Barton (MFA) is an American poet, performance artist, art historian, and theatre director based in Paris, France. She has been called “the most frightening poet of her generation.” Known equally for her accomplishments as a writer and educator, her work is frequently featured in both regional and international publications. Her first two books, Phantasmagoria and Grand Mal, are available through SIAMB Books while her forthcoming Next West will be released through TEMPER Press.
Through Paper Wing, she functions in a visiting artist capacity, helming productions and assisting the creative team. A versatile director, she has mounted productions of Dangerous Liaisons, Macbeth, Salomé, Don Juan in Hell, and The Rocky Horror Show.
A Paper Wing veteran with over two decades in-house, Jourdain provides a welcome artistic perspective both academic and avant-garde.
